Materials created by the Department for Education to communicate the return to schools during the “Alert” phase of the Covid-19 campaign

This is public health advice about measures taken to help stop the spread of viruses, like coronavirus (COVID-19), whilst encouraging pupils to return to school, as well as providing key information of the safety measures within schools. This campaign also advises pupils and parents on how to stay alert when returning to school.

The campaign encourages pupils to return to schools as it’s crucial for children’s learning, mental wellbeing, friendships and a sense of routine.

Key messages explains the measures being taken to minimise the risk of Coronavirus i.e. including:

  • Staggered breaks
  • Social distancing
  • Cleaning and hygiene
  • Testing

A range of resources created by teachers for KS1&2 and KS3&4 on hand and respiratory hygiene, mental health, nutrition and physical activity are available on the School Zone
